Biography

My name is Kevin Perozeni, a Ph.D. student in Rangeland, Wildlife, and Fisheries Management at Texas A&M University in Dr. Ashley Long's Lab. I earned my B.S. in Forestry, Fisheries, and Wildlife from The Ohio State University, where I completed an honors thesis on the survival of wintering sparrows with Dr. Chris Tonra.

After my undergraduate degree, I spent several years working as a wildlife technician, doing everything from grasshopper sparrow surveys on the Kansas prairies to running MAPS banding stations in Grand Teton National Park. Those experiences really shaped my love of migration ecology, fieldwork, and collaborating with both scientists and the public!

Currently, my research focuses on the migratory ecology and land cover use of Wilson’s Snipe throughout their full annual cycle. When I’m not tracking birds, I am usually photographing wildlife, chasing storms, or enjoying time outdoors with my partner and dog.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions at kperozeni@tamu.edu!
